Build Reports — Watching Parent Stack Get Built, Honestly
Most business pages show you the highlight reel. This one shows you the build.
Every month we publish what we spent, what happened, and what broke — the same radical-transparency standard we'd want from anyone selling to parents. When the income is real, you'll see it here first, receipts attached. Until then, you'll see the honest middle.
Why trust this? The founder ran a $2M physical products brand and publishes those numbers too — read that story here.
Build Report #1 — July 2026
What we spent
- Shopify Basic plan + apps (ReConvert)
- Ad testing: ~$147 across 5 Meta creatives (AU audience — our first lesson, see below)
- Content production tools
What happened
- Store relaunched with a restructured offer ladder: $17 entry → $47 core (Parent Launchpad, templates bundled in) → $197 next step
- First ad test produced one sale and a better education: our best creative hit an 18.8% click-through rate, but Australian ad costs (2–3x US rates) made the economics upside down. We're moving testing to US audiences.
- Post-purchase upsell installed so ad economics have a second chance per order
What broke
- Purchase tracking wasn't firing on our ads — our one sale wasn't attributed. Fixed before the next dollar of spend.
- Product page referenced a checkout bump that didn't exist yet. Copy wrote a cheque the checkout couldn't cash. Now it can.
Next month's focus
- Organic content sprint: daily short-form across five platforms
- US-audience ad retest of the winning creative
- First customer testimonials as reviews go live
Report #2 lands early August.
